Westville Miners triumph over Thorburn
Kyle Sinclair helped his teammates on the Westville Miners Bantam B team triumph over the Thorburn Golden Hawks 63 Wednesday night firing in three goals.
But he'll be quick to say it was a total team effort that gave them the win.
The game was just one of several the boys have played this week at the Westville Minor Hockey Association's Christmas Invitational which started Dec. 26 and finishes today.
Wins like the one they had Wednesday evening help by giving the players confidence, Sinclair said.
"When we win we're more progressive. We're not so down," he said. "When we lose we kind of get down as a team."
Wednesday was a major boost for the team as they led for much of the game. They were actually up 61 with just about three minutes left on the clock before Thorburn rallied to get two more before the final buzzer.
"They're an overall good team," Sinclair said.
As a whole his team has proved this season they can compete with their county rivals though.
"It's been pretty good. We have our ups and our downs, but overall we play pretty good as a team," he said.
Westville's coach, Kevin Dooley, said it's great for his players to be able to participate in a tournament like this.
"It gives you a chance to play a lot of games in a short period of time, so we get to test the water with each other," he said.
Many of the teams they were playing this week are teams they'll have to beat if they want to make it to provincials at the end of the season,[url=http://nikefree.mobilejeti.com]nike free[/url]. He's hoping they can continue their success for the remainder of the season.
